Eddie K and DJ Tony arrived in Miami and appeared with Carlos Otero on the Americateve Channel 41 program Pellizcame Que Estoy Sonando. They have asked to stay in Miami.

Mayito Rivera of Los Van Van Sings a Tribute to the Saints

Along with Juan Formell and Los Van Van Mayito Rivera, voted best singer in a poll at timba.com, improvises or is possessed by San Lazaro, known as Babalu Aye in the Santeria tradition. On December 17th devotees make a pilgrimage to El Rincon to honor San Lazaro and ask for health, sometimes taking days to crawl there. John Lennon is also considered a modern day saint by some, and Mayito feels strongly about the universal power of the song Hey Jude. At the end the special moment is disrupted by an uninvited Yuma who confuses Mayito with Desi Arnaz. "Que bolá, San La?".



Mayito Rivera, fue votado mejor cantante en una encuesta que hizo timba.com, improvisa, o mejor dicho es poseido por San Lázaro, tambien conocido como el orisha Babalu Aye en La Santeria. San Lazaro/Babalu Aye es uno de los santos más queridos en Cuba. Cada 17 de diciembre sus seguidores van a una iglesia cerca de La Habana llamado El Rincon para rendir tributo a San Lázaro y pedir salud. "Que bolá, San La?".

Manolin El Medico Live in Miami Beach

Here's Manolin El Medico de la Salsa, singing "Que Suerte", "No lo Comentes" and "Arriba de la Bola" with Chaka on piano, Dayamí Sánchez chorus, Renier Guerra percussion, Orlando Guanche piano, Hamed Barroso guitar, Gola bass, Lazarito Rodríguez musical director on guitar among others. A legendary Timba performer and songwriter, Manolin set the timba scene on fire in the 1990s in Cuba. True to his controversy causing lyrics, "Mami, now I have friends in Miami", Manolin performed today in Hialeah with friend and recent US arrival Issac Delgado and Carlos Manuel. En los 90s en La Habana el y su orchesta causó euforias colectivas musicales en la isla. También es conocido como compositor y con mucha originalidad mezcla su estilo de puro cubano con pop latino. Opening night of Makumba on Calle Ocho was a fiesta to remember. Manolin joined his former pikete for the second set. The club closed but El Pikete is making good on their promise to "fill Miami with timba". They'll fill the Yuma with timba on their upcoming tour to San Francisco.

Manuel Hernández known as El Medico de la Salsa singing Historia de las sillas by Silvio Rodriguez. Silvio, a Cuban Nueva Trova singer and composer was just nominated for a Latin Grammy. Manuel Hernandez conocido como El Medico de la Salsa nos canta la canción Historia de las sillas por Silvio Rodriguez. Silvio es un compositor de Nuevo Trova y acaba de ser nominado para un Grammy Latino.

It's a good thing the Latin Grammies will be held in Las Vegas and not Miami this year!

A moment with Rolando Pérez Pérez

Here is a half minute with alto saxaphonist Rolando Pérez Pérez ex-NG La Banda, Cubanismo y Pachto Alonso. He died this year of medical complications. Starting in 2004 he performed at the Jazz Cafe as Pérez Pérez y su cuarteto. Stay Tuned for some video of Bill Wolfer of Mamborama making a guest appearance with the group. The singer is none other than Mr. Pintate los Labios Maria, Junio Romero, the Charanga Habanera trumpet player who is ready to go play at Blue Note in New York according to Pérez Pérez.

Charanga Habanera Hit Parade No.2

Esto fue estreno. David Calzado wrote "Hit Parade" for singer Leo Garrido. Leo came from the show Piso 6, the Cuban equivalent of Entertainment Tonight. Following in the tradition of Dantes as Ricki Rikkon and Ebblis Valdivia as El Boni David wrote the song to create an identity for him when he joined the orchestra. Hit Parade became a dance floor hit in Europe and in Canada.
