UPDATE: Well the trailer is not quite ready for primetime. Now we see why "Coming Soon" is such a useful phrase.

Aqui tenemos una foto de la nueva pelicula sobre la musica cubana, Gente d'Zona en concierto. Falta Nando Pro. La pelicula viene pronto!

Gente de Zona ("neighborhood people") is the most popular reggaeton group in Cuba. Gente de Zona is a trio composed of the founder and chief songwriter: Alexander Delgado (Ale), Yosdany (Jacob) and Fernando Otero (Nando Pro). Their latest CD is "Lo Mejor que suena ahora." Their song El Animal is one of the biggest hits in Cuba now.

Gente de Zona se han convertido en uno de los grupos más destacados exponentes del reggaeton en Cuba, convencidos de que llegaron para quedarse. Su ultimo CD se llama Lo mejor que suena ahora. La cancion "El Animal" es el numero uno en La Habana ahora.

It's been a while but TimbaTV has a surprise for the end of 2008. En breve, we will premiere the trailer for a new film about la musica Cubana.

Meanwhile there's another hot rumor going around the timba blogs on the internets. Apparently, Lazaro Mayami Diaz se quedo, or better said he went to Miami, not his namesake but possibly his new stage. Wondering who Manolito Y su Trabuco will hire, there is no lack of talent in Cuba in spite of the cantante leak of late. Mayami has a cameo in the film.

Thousands of People Danced in Cuba's Carnival in London

HAVANA, Cuba, July 3 Cuba's Carnival in London, has just ended in that city's Southwark Park.

The director of the Cuban Sur Caribe music group and honorary president of the carnival, Ricardo Leyva, was in charge of closing the event, which was also attended by another band, the Charanga Habanera.

Some 60,000 people participated in the Cuban carnival. (contactomundo.com)

Masiva asistencia en el Carnaval de Cuba 2008

“La música cubana siempre está de moda, yo creo que hay otros países que comienzan a tomar fuerza como es Colombia que sea hecho muy popular en los últimos años, es por eso, que el nombre de Cuba trae gente, además Cuba es el destino turístico con mayor crecimiento en el Reino Unido. Turistas que van a Cuba quieren seguir viviendo la experiencia cubana, entonces eso ayuda bastante” acotó José Luís.

De esta forma, muchos tuvieron la oportunidad de escuchar a la Charanga con todo su repertorio musical y ver el movimiento de caderas de sus bailarines que descrestaron a los asistentes. La banda comenzó su presentación al final de la tarde del día sábado, luego que Ricardo Leyva Presidente del Carnaval diera por inaugurado el evento de manera oficial. (contactomundo.com)
